Dating News & Commentary

My husband and I just celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary.  I woke up to cards and presents - YAY!  They were the kind of presents I like too.  The kind that says my husband had to hunt all over creation to find.  The kind that is not about price but definitely about the things that bring me secret joy and mirth - lots of mirth.

I used to have a hard time remembering how long I had been married until my daughter told me about a trick she uses.  She says she takes her age and adds 1 to it.  Thus she is 21 plus 1, I have been married 22 years.  This really works.

However, I know there will come a day when I will not remember how old my daughter is - then what do I do?  My mask will fall off and my husband will realize that I am the most unromantic person on the face of this earth.  He will see that I get cards at the last minute and only ones that make ME laugh.  He will also see that buying cards is something I have to carefully plan for as it is not my natural instinct.  My husband on the other hand is a pro at the romance and card stuff.  I love getting his cards so much that I would rather have the cards first and open the presents later.

When it comes to this love stuff, I think Winnie the Pooh said it best.

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”

Happy Anniversary BNP.
